Four Champions Crowned As Repeat Winners Dominate Night

On September 22nd, the 22nd night of racing action took place. On this night, we would crown four champions. The points for the Sims Modifieds, Southern Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Jr. Minis would end. The SIMS Limited Modified Points battle is the one that will be the one to watch. The track was very tacky in the heat races, but it would go dry during the first feature and by the third feature, the track was all the way dry but still very fast. We would have American National Bank Kids Night and Bike Races. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were Lyle Miller #151 and Bobby Ortega #07.
Leading the field of 17 to the green was Lyle Miller #151 and Billy Williams #31. As the field gets the green flag, Williams gets the jump but Bobby Ortega #07 takes the lead to lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, Ortega leads with Will Garrison #93 second and Williams now third. At Lap 5, Ortega is still out front with Garrison second and Trent Dorman #36 now in third place. At Lap 7, the caution comes out for Phillip Smith #981. On the restart, Ortega leads them back to green and gets the jump to remain in the lead with Garrison and Dorman running second and third. With two laps to go, the Top 5 is Ortega, Garrison, Dorman, Randy Garvin #3, and John White #6. The field gets the white flag with Ortega out front of Garrison and Dorman, but Dorman has hit the tractor tire in Turn 4 and ends his night. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his 4th win of the season is Bobby Ortega in the MIB Motorsports, Parker Racing Engines #07. The rest of the Top 5 was Will Garrison #93, John White #6, Bobby Garvin #37, and Randy Garvin #3. In the points, Trent Dorman leads Jon White Jr. by 31 points and Will Garrison by 37 with two nights left.
Southern Modifieds
The heat race winners were Craig Petty #15 and Chaz Exum #21.
Leading the field of 15 Modifieds was Dewayne Cummings #2 and Charlie Smith #516. The field gets the green flag, and the drivers hit the gas and take off, with Smith getting the jump to take the lead and lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, the caution comes out for Patrik Daniel #151. On the restart, Smith brings them back to the green with Archie Whitt Jr. #76 now in second place and Craig Petty #15 third. At Lap 5, Whitt passes Smith to take over the lead as Petty runs third. At Lap 8, the Top 3 stay the same with Whitt out front. At halfway, the Top 5 is Whitt, Smith, Petty, Chaz Exum #21, and Thomas Blackwell #015. At Lap 12, Whitt holds a four car-length lead over Smith and Petty. At Lap 15, Whitt remains out front with the rest of the Top 5 still the same. With two laps to go, Whitt has his car on a rail, now up by five car-lengths. Smith and Petty still run second and third, respectively. Exum and Blackwell start to battle for fourth. The field gets the white flag with Whitt on his way to the win. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his third win of the 2007 season was Archie Whitt Jr, in the Holley & Holley Concrete of Wylie, Plano Automotive Machine in Plano, and All-Star Graphics #76. The rest of the Top 5 was Charlie Smith #516, Craig Petty #15, Thomas Blackwell #015, and Chaz Exum #21. The Hard Charger was Thomas Blackwell #015 after moving from 12th to 4th. In the final points, Chaz Exum #21 claimed his first modified Championship by beating Craig Petty #15 by 83 points.
Street Stocks
The heat race winners were
Tommy McManus #103, Jay Edmonds #16, and Tommy Davis Jr, #17.
Leading the field of 19 Street Stocks to the green flag would be Chris Kent #47 and Danny Massingill #8. As the field comes out of Turn 4 and takes the green flag, Kent gets the jump on Massingill to take the lead and lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, Kent leads with Massingill second and Tommy McManus #103 third. At Lap 5, Kent leads but has the pack backed up behind him. McManus bumps Kent in the turns, but can’t get by. Tommy Davis Jr. #17 runs third as Massingill falls to fifth. At Lap 6, Davis Jr. goes to the outside and passes Kent for the lead. At Lap 8, Davis Jr. now holds a six car-length lead over Kent and McManus. With five laps to go, the Top 5 is Davis Jr., Jay Edmonds #16, McManus, Chris Davis #98, and Kent. At Lap 12, Davis Jr. still holds a five car-length lead over Edmonds and C. Davis now up to third. With two laps to go, Davis Jr. remains out front but Edmonds and C. Davis have cut into the lead some, but they need a caution to have a chance. The white flag comes out and Davis Jr, leads by four car-lengths still. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his second win of the season was Tommy Davis Jr. in the Fruin Racing, Jr’s Leisure #17. The rest of Top 5 was Jay Edmonds #16, Chris Davis #98, Tommy McManus #103, and Clint Frideley #08. The Hard Charger was Clint Frideley #08 after moving from 18th to 5th. In the final points, Chris Davis #98 claimed his first Street Stock Championship by beating Clint Frideley #08 by 24 points.
Jr. Minis
Your heat race winner was Chris Miller #98.
Leading the field of 7 to the green was Dustin Mooney #5 and Chris Miller #98. As the green comes out, Mooney gets the jump on Miller and takes the lead to lead Lap 1. The caution comes out for Jordan Johnson #79. On the restart, Mooney get the jump and takes the lead Miller spins in Turn 3 but takes back off now in last. At Lap 4, Mooney leads by six car-lengths over Aaron Davis #17. Mooney never looks back to score his third win of the season. The rest of the Top 5 was Aaron Davis #17, Jordan Johnson #79, Gavin Smith #198 and Chris Miller #98. In the final points, Chris Miller #98 wins his first Jr. Mini Stock Championship over Dustin Mooney #5 by 52 points.
Bombers
The heat race winners were Jeremy Emmons #85, Chad Roden #317, and David Newton #54.
Leading the 23-car field was Jessie Kerry #15 and Henry Harrison #087. On the start, the field gets the green flag, and Kerry gets the jump but Jeremy Emmons #85 passes Kerry to take the lead and lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, Emmons leads with Chad Roden #317 running second and Danielle Daniels #018 now third. At Lap 5, Emmons has the lead still with Roden and Daniels trying to catch him. At Lap 7, Emmons remains the leader with Roden second and now David Newton #54 passing Daniels for third place. At Lap 9, Emmons is in heavy lap traffic with Roden and Newton battling for second place. With five laps to go, the Top 5 is Emmons, Newton, Roden, Daniels, and Don Watson #51. At Lap 12, Emmons still leads but Newton is trying to catch up but the lap traffic is not helping. With two laps to go, the Top 2 finally get clear of all the lap traffic. Newton is now just two car-lengths behind Emmons. The leaders take the white flag with Emmons leading but Newton is right there on him but he runs out of laps. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his fourth win of the season was Jeremy Emmons #85. The rest of the Top 5 was David Newton #54, Chad Roden #317, Danielle Daniels #018, and Don Watson #51. The Hard Charger was Clint Jones #57 after moving from 19th to 6th. In the points, David Newton leads J.C. Howell #103 by 46 points with two nights left.
SIMS Limited Modifieds
The heat race winners were Max Eddie Thomas #82, Tommy Davis Jr. #17, and Bennie Everhart #9.
Leading the field of 24 SIMS Modifieds was Ryan Miller #26 and David Phillips #65. Going into the last points race Bennie Everhart #9 leads Chris Davis #98 by four points. The 2007 champion will be crowned at the end of the race. As the field comes out of Turn 4, the green flag comes out and we are underway, with Miller getting the jump but behind him the pack backs up as Michael Martin #31 gets sideways. In the backup, Max Eddie Thomas #82, Dylan Petty #5, Amanda Bell #4, and Tommy Davis Jr. #17 all bring out the caution. On the complete restart, Miller gets the jump to take the lead and lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, the second caution comes out for debris in Turn 3. On the restart, Miller brings them back to the green with Martin in second and Gary Blackwell #010 in third. At Lap 5, Miller leads by three car-lengths. Blackwell passes Martin for second place. At Lap 7, Miller has the #26 car still out front of Blackwell, Martin and Chris Davis #98. At Lap 9, the third caution comes out for David Phillips #65 and Jake Patterson #07. On the restart, Miller gets the jump to get back out front. Martin passes Blackwell, while Skip Luther #73 and C. Davis run fourth and fifth, respectively. At Lap 12, Miller leads by three car-lengths. Martin and Blackwell race for third. At Lap 14, Blackwell gets a good run and passes Martin and then Miller for the lead. With five laps to go, Blackwell leads by three car-lengths over Miller and new third place runner, Luther. At Lap 17, Blackwell holds a four car-length lead as Miller and Luther run side by side for second. C. Davis passes Martin for fourth. With two laps to go, Blackwell remains the leader, but Luther is trying to catch him. Martin spins in Turn 2 and hits Lee McCullough #3 but no caution, as they keep going. Blackwell takes the white flag with Luther and C. Davis battling for second, but the caution comes out for the spun car of Amanda Bell #4 in Turn 3. The restart will be green and white together. The race and points championship come down to one lap. Blackwell brings them back to green. The green and white flags wave and they hit the gas with Blackwell getting back out front with Luther and C. Davis side by side for second place. Tommy Davis Jr. #17 passes Miller for 4th. The field comes down the back with Blackwell out front. C. Davis edges ahead of Luther as points leader, Bennie Everhart is stuck in a battle for 6th which would give him the championship, but Miller battles him hard. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his second win of the season was Gary Blackwell in the G&G Racing #010. The rest of the Top 5 was Chris Davis #98, Skip Luther #73, Tommy Davis Jr. #17, and Lee McCullough #3. The Hard Charger was Lee McCullough #3 after moving from 14th to 5th. Chris Davis #98 finished 2nd and Bennie Everhart #9 finished 7th in the feature, so, your 2007 SIMS Limited Modified Championship goes to Chris Davis #98 by one point.
Night number 22 is in the books for the 2007 season. We saw maybe one of the most exciting nights of the 2007 season as four championships come to an end. The SIMS feature made for some very exciting racing as the Championship come down to the last lap. We congratulate the four champions that were crowned: Chris Davis #98 Street Stocks and SIMS Limited Modifieds; Chaz Exum #21 Southern Modifieds; and Chris Miller #98 Jr Mini Stocks. Don’t forget this weekend is the SIMS Nationals and Young Gun Shootout. We will be racing both Friday and Saturday nights, September 28th and 29th. Byram, Petty And Garrison All Make It Back To Back.

On September 15th, the 21th night of racing action took place. The track was very wet slick in the heat races but would be half tacky and half dry at the start of the features before going all the way dry. We would have a ladies shoe kicking contest at intermission. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were Lyle Miller #151 and Will Garrison #93.
Leading the field of 14 to the green was Lyle Miller #151 and Amanda Beard #08. As the field gets the green flag, Miller gets the jump but Will Garrison #93 takes the lead to lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, Garrison leads with Trent Dorman #36 and Bobby Ortega #07, 2nd and 3rd. At Lap 6, the Top 3 remain the same. At Lap 10, the caution comes out for Kelly Williams #31. On the restart, Garrison gets the jump with Ortega and John White Jr. #8 passing Dorman for 2nd and 3rd. The white flag comes out with Garrison still out front. Coming out of Turn 4 and making it two wins in a row is Will Garrison #93. The rest of the Top 5 was Bobby Ortega #07, John White Jr. #8, Trent Dorman #36, and Randy Garvin #3. At Lap 16, Davis Jr. starts to open up his lead now at six car-lengths. Miller moves into second passing McCullough. With two laps to go, Davis Jr. has the race in control with Miller second. Leading the field of 16 Street Stocks to the green flag would be Robert McManus #747 and Guy Lambert #51. As the field comes out of Turn 4 and takes the green flag, McManus gets the jump on Lambert to take the lead, but both cars spin in Turn 4. McManus spins off the turn. Lambert spins and hits second-place runner in points Clint Frideley #08 in the right rear, breaking his trailing arms. Lambert and McManus keep going before the caution comes out. On the complete restart, McManus gets the jump, but David Emmons #23 takes over the lead to lead Lap 1. Going into Turns 1&2, McManus spins in front of the field and hits Jay Edmonds #16, Chris Davis #98 hits Edmonds in the back, and Tommy McManus #103 hits Davis in the back. The point leader stops coming out of Turn 2, and the caution comes out as Davis has busted a radiator. His night is done. On the restart, Emmons leads them back to green with Steve Byram #2 in second place. At Lap 4, Emmons continues to lead with Byram and Edmonds second and third. At Lap 7, Emmons leads, but Byram is right on his back bumper. With five laps to go, the Top 5 is Emmons, Byram, Edmonds, Lambert, and Chris Kent #47. At Lap 12, Emmons gets sideways in Turn 4 and Byram makes the pass to take over the lead. Edmonds moves into second place. With two laps to go, Byram leads, but has Edmonds right on his back bumper. The leaders get the white flag with Byram and Edmonds nose to tail. Edmonds runs hard into 3, but he can’t make a move. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his fifth win of the season is Steve Byram in the SNL Automotive #2. The rest of the Top 5 was Jay Edmonds #16, David Emmons #23, Chris Kent #47, and Guy Lambert #51. The Hard Charger was Chris Kent after moving from 16th to 4th. In the Points, with one night left, Chris Davis leads Clint Frideley by 22 points.

Leading the field of 16 Modifieds was Craig Petty #15 and Shane Killingsworth #45. The field gets the green flag, and the drivers hit the gas and take off, with Petty getting the jump to take the lead, but the caution comes out for Michael Price #22 and Mike McLaughlin #715, who is running topless after a heat race flip. On the complete restart, Petty gets the jump with Matt Deaver #28 moving into second place. At Lap 3, Petty holds a three car-length lead over Deaver and Roy Capps #12. At Lap 5, Petty still leads, but Capps passes Deaver for second place. At Lap 7, Petty has his car going strong with Capps second and Killingsworth now third. At halfway, the Top 5 is Petty, Capps, Killingsworth, Deaver, and Jason Sartain #74. At Lap 11, the second caution comes out for the spun car of Danny Fields #115 in Turn 4. On the restart, the race really heats up. Petty gets the jump with Killingsworth moving into second place. Sartain has problems and heads to the pits. At Lap 14, the Top 5 are all right together with Petty leading Killingsworth and Capps. At Lap 16, Killingsworth and Petty run side by side with Killingsworth taking the lead, but Petty retakes the lead right back. With two laps to go, Petty, Killingsworth, Capps, and Thomas Blackwell #015 all run hard and close. At the white flag, Petty leads, while Capps and Killingsworth battle for second place. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his second win in a row was Craig Petty in the Praxair #15. The rest of the Top 5 was Shane Killingsworth #45, Roy Capps #12, Chaz Exum #21, and Ronny Sigman #1 (3rd place Thomas Blackwell was DQ’ed in tech). The Hard Charger was Chaz Exum #21. In the points, Chaz Exum has clinched the 2007 Modified Championship.

Petty and Garrison Score First Wins Of Season

On September 8th, the 20th night of racing action took place. The track was very tacky for the heat races. The track would get some ruts in Turns 1&2 during the features, but it was still fast and tacky. At intermission, we would have the wedding ceremony of Kristi Holmes and Donnie Gosnell (me). I would like to thank everyone who helped with the wedding and took part in it. Chris Davis, Walter Garner, Bubba Davis, Clint Frideley, Ashley Wilkins, Misty Garner, Jamie Joiner, Nonnie Barnes, Mikah Garner, Jake Davis, Dakota Raines, Aaron Davis, Ronny Sigman and Skip Luther. Also, thanks to Melissa and Randy Barker for allowing us to get married at the track. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were Bobby Garvin #37 and Will Garrison #93.
Chris Morris #1 and Jon White #6 led the field of 14 to the green flag. White gets the jump and takes over the lead. White leads until Lap 3, when Will Garrison #93 takes over the lead. Garrison would lead the rest of the way to take his first win the of 2007 season.
Southern Modifieds
The heat race winners were Jack Sartain #47 and Craig Petty #15.
Jack Sartain #47 and Charlie Smith #516 led the field of 16 to the green flag. The green comes out with Smith getting the jump and talking the lead. Smith leads until Lap 13, when Craig Petty #15 moves into first place. Petty would lead the rest of the way and finally score his first win of the season after being close all season in the Praxair #15. The Hard Charger was Michael Price #22 after moving from 10th to 4th.
Street Stocks
The heat race winners were Chris Kent #47, Chris Davis #98, and Clint Frideley #08.

would lead the field of 22 to the green. As the green comes out, Kent gets the
jump to lead Lap 1. Kent leads until Lap 2 when he is involved in a hard crash
on the front straightaway. Dave Emmons #23 takes over the lead on the restart
but he loses the lead on the next lap to Steve Byram #2. Byram leads until Lap
12 before he sees any pressure, as Chris Davis #98 is right on his back bumper.
In the final laps, Byram and Davis run right together, but Byram holds on to
score his 4th win of the season in the SNL Automotive #2. The Hard
Charger was Dennis Clayton #5 after moving from 18th to 5th.
Jr. Minis
Your heat race winner was Chris Miller #98.
In the feature, Chris Miller would lead it wire to wire to score his 12th win of the season.
Bombers
The heat race winners were Jesse Landess #3, Chad Roden #317, and James Riddle #14.
Billy Cobb #777 and Jesse Landess #3 led the field of 21 to the green. As the green comes out, Landess gets the jump to take the lead. Landess would have to hold off Chad Roden #317 the whole race, but Landess leads wire to wire to score his first win of the season in the Henderson Racing #3. The Hard Charger was Clint Jones #57 after moving from 19th to 8th.
SIMS Limited Modifieds
The heat race winners were Tommy Davis #8, Lee McCullough #3, and Chris Davis #98.
Terry Beard #008 and Dylan Petty #5 led the field of 22 to the green. Petty gets the jump on the start to lead Lap 1. Petty would lead until Lap 2 when he spins in Turn 4. He is hit hard by Billy Finch #52. This would end his strong run. On the restart, Danny Pattat #020 now leads. Pattat leads but is under heavy pressure from Chris Davis #98 and Bennie Everhart #9. Pattat leads until Lap 9 when Everhart takes the lead. Everhart never looks back and goes on to score his second win of the season. The Hard Charger was Ronny Sigman #1 after moving from 17th to 5th.
Night number 20 is in the books for the 2007 season. Once again, it was a very good, exciting night of racing. Thanks to all the fans that came out, and to the drivers who took part in the races. Eckert Makes It Back To Back in SIMS; Steve Brown Scores His First St. Stock Win.

On September 1st, the 19th night of racing action took place. The track was very half tacky and half dry for the heat races. It was dry slick during the features, which made it very hard for the drivers to get a hold of the track. We would have Driver Intros for the SIMS Modifieds. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were Trent Dorman #36 and John White #6.
Leading the field of 14 to the green was Steve Garcia #198 and Jake Morris #83. As the field gets the green flag, Morris gets the jump on Garcia and gets out into the lead, but Bobby Ortega #98 passes Morris to lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, Ortega leads but the caution comes out for Matt Holt #65. On the restart, Ortega gets the jump, but Trent Dorman #36 moves past to take over the lead, bringing Lyle Miller #151 with him for 2nd. Leading the field of 22 SIMS Modifieds was Terry Beard #008 and Matt Wester #91. As the field comes out of Turn 4, the green flag comes out and we are underway, with Beard getting the jump on Wester to lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, Beard leads, but the caution comes out for Wester, who spins in Turn 2. On the restart, Beard gets the jump with Bubba Davis #19 running 2nd and Randy Eckert #44 running 3rd. At Lap 5, Beard still holds onto the lead with Eckert moving into 2nd, while Tommy Davis #8 and Bennie Everhart #9 pass B. Davis. At Lap 7, Beard holds the lead but Eckert is right on his back bumper. At Lap 9, Eckert moves into the lead passing Beard for the top spot. The field gets the green flag, and the drivers hit the gas and take off, with Deaver getting the jump to take the lead, but Craig Petty #15 passes Deaver to lead Lap #1. At Lap 3, Petty still leads with Shane Killingsworth #45 moving into 2nd place passing Deaver. At Lap 5, Petty stays out front with Killingsworth and Charlie Smith #516, 2nd and 3rd. At Lap 7, Smith passes Petty for the lead but Petty and Killingsworth both head to the pits, ending there strong runs. The caution comes out for Mike Deaver #10. On the restart, Smith gets the jump with Matt Deaver #28 now in 2nd place. At halfway, the Top 5 is Smith, Keith Hartman #05, Deaver, Mike McLaughlin #715, and Chaz Exum #21. At Lap 12, Smith holds almost a straightaway lead with Hartman running 2nd. At Lap 14, Smith gets a little too high in Turn 3, letting the pack catch him, as McLaughlin passes Hartman for 2nd place. Eckert and Whitt Jr. Return To Victory Lane In Modified Classes

On August 25th, the 18th night of racing action took place. The track was very tacky for most of the heat races, becoming dry during the last of the heat races. It was dry slick during the features, but it still held all three racing grooves. After the races, we had the Ladies Powder Puff. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were John White #6 and Will Garrison #93.
Leading the field of 12 to the green was Jake Morris #83 and Brandon Miller #154. As the field gets the green flag, Morris gets the jump on Miller and gets out into the lead, but John White #6 passes Morris to lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, White leads new second-place runner Miller and Morris. At Lap 5, White still leads Miller and now Will Garrison #93 has moved into third place. At Lap 7, we see the first caution of the race as second place runner, Miller, spins in Turns 3&4 and stops. On the restart, White gets the jump to retake the lead, but the second caution comes out, this time for the stalled car of Jake Morris #83. Under the caution, third-place runner, Garrison heads to the pits with a flat. On the restart, White gets the jump, but Trent Dorman #36 takes over the lead. With two laps to go, Dorman leads White, Jon White Jr. #8, and Amanda Beard #08. The white flag comes out with Dorman in control of the race. The field gets the green flag, and the drivers hit the gas and take off, with Ashcraft getting the jump to lead Lap 1, but after the field completes the first lap we have trouble as Ashcraft spins in Turns 3&4 and collects point leader, Chaz Exum #21 & Thomas Blackwell #015, All three rejoin the field on the rear. On the restart, Hartman now leads the field, but we see our second caution as we have trouble in Turns 3&4 once again. This time it was for Cody Smith #718, Craig Petty #15 and Mike Deaver #10. Petty’s night is done, as he heads to the pits with heavy damage. On the restart, Hartman gets the jump but loses the lead to Shane Killingsworth #45. At Lap 4, Killingsworth has started to pull away from the pack with Hartman second and Ronny Sigman #1, third. At Lap 6, Killingswoth continues to open up his lead now up by 8 car lengths, but Sigman passes Hartman for the second spot. At Lap 8, Killingsworth still leads, but Sigman has started to cut into the lead some, while Hartman is still in third place. At halfway, the Top 5 is Killingsworth, Sigman, Hartman, Archie Whitt Jr. #76, and Tommy Davis Jr. #17. At Lap 13, we see the third caution as Scooter Stephens #27 blows a motor in Turn 1. On the restart, Killingsworth gets the jump to stay out front, but the fourth caution comes out for Lyle Miller #93. Under the caution, second-place runner, Sigman, heads to the pits with problems. On the restart, Killingsworth gets the jump but Whitt Jr. passes Killingsworth on the outside to take over the lead. At Lap 15, Whitt Jr. leads by two car-lengths as Killingsworth and Davis Jr. run second and third, respectively. At Lap 17, Whitt Jr. remains out front with Killingsworth and Davis Jr. starting to battle for second. Running in fourth place is the hard charger, Exum who has come back from the first lap crash. The leaders get two laps to go with Whitt Jr. still up by three car lengths over Killingsworth and Davis Jr. The white flag comes out with Whitt Jr. out in front. On the restart, Emmons gets the jump to get back out into the lead with Tommy McManus #103, second and Exum third. At Lap 5, the Top 5 is Emmons, McManus, Clint Frideley #08, Chris Davis #98, and Steve Brown #76. We also see our second caution as Jay Edmonds #16 spins off Turn 3 and stops. On the restart, Emmons gets back out into the lead with the rest of the Top 5 still the same. At Lap 7, the third place changes as Davis passes Frideley for the spot. With five laps to go, the Top 5 is Emmons, McManus, Davis, Frideley and Brown. The third caution comes out for the spun car of Dustin McCool #72. On the restart, Emmons gets back out into the lead with McManus and Davis on his back bumper. At Lap 12, Emmons leads by two car lengths over McManus and Davis. With two laps to go, McManus tries to catch Emmons, but he can’t gain much on him. Davis still runs third. The white flag comes out with Emmons on his way to the win. On the restart, Emmons leads the field back to green with James McCool #0, second and Jamie Henderson #3, third. On Lap 4, Emmons leads but the third, fourth, and fifth cautions happened. At Lap 17, Eckert remains out front but his lead has started to close up some. B. Davis runs second with C. Davis and Everhart battling for third, after passing Martin. With two laps to go, Eckert is still the man to beat as the battle for third gets very hot. C. Davis runs the top, Everhart runs the middle and Tommy Davis Jr. #17 runs the bottom. They run three-wide in the turns. In Turns 3&4 Everhart gets loose and spins into the infield, but is able to get back going and rejoin the field in 6th place. Leading the field of 10 to the green was Cindy Edwards #79 and Ashley Petty #317. As the green flag comes out, the ladies hit the gas with Edwards getting the jump and taking the lead to lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, Ashley Petty #317 moves past Edwards to take over the lead. At Lap 4, we have a sister act going on as Ashley Petty leads, with sister Angie Petty #08 now in the 2nd spot. The two sisters drag race down the front straightaway, but there is contact resulting in both left side tires of Angie Petty’s #08 getting cut. Her night is done. At Lap 5, Ashley Petty leads but is in lap traffic. That gives Rhonda Edmonds #3 her break as she passes Ashley Petty down the back straightaway to take over the lead. Edwards moves into second place. At Lap 7, Edmonds has opened up a six car length lead over Edwards and Petty. With two laps to go, Edmonds continues to pull away, but the battle for second is getting good as Petty is starting to look under Edwards. The ladies get the white flag with Edmonds in control. Petty makes her move and passes Edwards for the second place spot. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking the 2007 Powder Puff title is Rhonda Edmonds in the KKC, Henderson Racing #3. With two laps to go, Pattat is doing everything he can to hold off Blackwell. The white flag comes out with Blackwell right on Pattat’s back bumper. Blackwell makes one last charge but can’t do it. At Lap 4, Emmons leads, but the first caution comes out for Louis Beaver #87 and Travis Davidson #21. On the restart, Emmons gets the jump and gets back out into the lead with Jay Edmonds #16 moving past R. McManus and into 2nd. At Lap 7, Emmons holds a three-car length lead over Edmonds. The battle for 4th starts to heat up as Tommy Davis Jr. #17 and Chris Davis #98 run for the spot. At Lap 9, Emmons still leads Edmonds as 5th place runner Davis Jr. heads to the pits with problems. Leading the field of 20 Modifieds was Jack Sartain #47 and Lloyd Ashcraft #8. The field gets the green flag, and the drivers hit the gas and take off, with Sartain getting the jump to lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, Cody Smith #718 passes Sartain to take over the top spot. Sartain pulls off on the next lap with problems. At Lap 5, Smith has started to pull away from the pack as Archie Whitt Jr. #76 runs 2nd and Ashcraft runs 3rd. At Lap 6 the battle for 3rd on back is a great one to watch as Craig Petty #15 and Max Eddie Thomas #82 pass Ashcraft, and a whole line of others behind them race hard. At Lap 8, Smith has opened up a big lead, but gets high in Turn 1 allowing the pack to catch up. Petty passes Whitt Jr. for 2nd. At halfway, the Top 5 is Smith, Petty, Whitt Jr., Thomas, and Chaz Exum #21. At Lap 12, Smith continues to lead, as he has opened up his lead over Petty and Whitt Jr. by 8 car lengths. At Lap 15, the caution comes out for Chris Bell #37 and Kevin Forester #143. On the restart, Smith gets the jump, but a pileup in Turn 1 brings the caution out again for the cars of Jason Sartain #74, Shane Killingsworth #45, and Keith Hartman #05. On the restart, Smith gets the jump but Whitt Jr. passes Smith to take the lead. Smith retakes the lead on the next lap. In the final laps, we all see an awesome battle for 2nd on back to 7th, as all of the drivers continue to race all over and pass each other in every turn. The field is shown two laps to go, with Smith starting to pull away again, but Whitt Jr. is under heavy pressure from Ronny Sigman #1 and Thomas Blackwell #015 for 2nd place. Smith takes the white flag up by 5 car lengths, but Sigman takes over 2nd place and starts to run him down but he runs out of time. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his first win if the season was Cody Smith #718. The rest of the Top 5 was Ronny Sigman #1, Archie Whitt Jr. #76, Thomas Blackwell #015 and Max Eddie Thomas #82. Night number 17 is in the books for the 2007 season. Once again, it was a very good, exciting night of racing. On August 11th, the 16th night of racing action took place. The weather was good but for the second week in a row, the heat made it a little uncomfortable. The track was very tacky for the heat races and started to get dry during the features. At intermission, we had Fan Appreciation Night and a tribute for Eddie Scott. Thanks to the following drivers: Bubba Davis, Tommy Davis, Thomas Blackwell, and Ronny Sigman for collecting money. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were Will Garrison #98 and John White #6.
Leading the field of 14 to the green was Lyle Miller #151 and Amanda Beard #08. As the field gets the green flag, Miller gets the jump on Beard and gets out into the lead to lead Lap 1. At Lap 2, we see the first lead change as John White #6 passes Miller for the lead. At Lap 5, Miller retakes the lead from White. We see our first caution as it comes out for Will Garrison #98. On the restart, Miller gets the jump to get back out into the lead, but the caution comes out for Chris Morris #1 and Michael Donlay #10. On the restart, Miller gets the jump to get back out front, but there is trouble as Miller spins going into Turn 3 and Corey Morris #93 and Amanda Beard #08 spin to miss him. On the restart, Bobby Garvin #37 takes over the lead with Trent Dorman #36 running 2nd. At Lap 9, Garvin, Dorman, and Jon White Jr. #8 battle hard for the lead with Dorman getting the lead. At Lap 3, Blackwell leads by three car-lengths over Turner, while Lee McCullough #3, Bubba Davis #19, and Chris Davis #98 battle for 4th. At Lap 5, Blackwell continues to run out front with Turner and McCullough 2nd and 3rd. At Lap 6, the first caution comes out for Amanda Bell #4. At halfway, the Top 5 is Blackwell, Turner, Thomas, T. Davis, and C. Davis. At Lap 12, Blackwell is still out front, but Thomas has started to run him down. At Lap 14, Blackwell has his car on the top but Thomas continues to close in on him. T. Davis moves into third passing Turner. At Lap 16, Blackwell holds the lead, but going into Turn 3 Thomas does a slide job on Blackwell, who has to get out of the gas. Thomas takes the lead. With two laps to go, Thomas leads Blackwell by three car-lengths. The white flag is waving with Thomas leading, but here comes Blackwell who is right on Thomas’ back bumper but can’t make the pass. On the complete restart, Davis Jr. gets the jump to take the lead, but the caution comes out for Lee McCullough #25 who spins in Turn 3, and for Steve Byram #2 who blows a motor in Turn 4. On the restart, Davis Jr. gets back out front again with William Exum #121 second, and Dennis Clayton #5, third. At Lap 3, Davis Jr. has started to pull away from the rest of the field. Clint Frideley #08 moves past Exum for the second spot. At Lap 4, Davis Jr. still continues to pull away. Frideley hits a rut and fills his right wheel with mud and pulls into the infield but the caution comes out for the spin of Robert McManus #747. Morris Scores First Mini Stock Win; Blackwell Takes Southern Modifieds

On August 4th, the 15th night of racing action took place. The weather was good but the heat made it a little uncomfortable; however, 102 drivers still showed up. The track was very tacky for the heat races and started to get rough during the features. The track would still keep all three racing grooves, but it would have a very tricky track to get around with the ruts. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were John White Jr. #8 and Bobby Garvin #37.
Leading the field of 13 to the green was Donnie Boughton #911 and John White #6. As the field gets the green flag, White gets the jump on Boughton and gets out into the lead to lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, White leads with Jon White Jr. #8 running 2nd. At Lap 4, Corey Morris #93 takes over the lead form White. At Lap 7, Morris leads Randy Garvin #3 and White Jr. The first caution comes out as John White #6 flips in Turn 1. The red flag comes out to check on him. He is ok, but his night is over. On the restart, Morris gets the jump to stay out front of White Jr. With two laps to go, Morris leads with White Jr. and Bobby Garvin #37 battling for 2nd. The field gets the white flag with Morris out front. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his first feature win of the season was Corey Morris #93. Davis gets the jump and gets back into the lead, but his brother, Tommy Davis Jr. #17, passes him down the back straightaway for the lead. At Lap 9, Davis Jr. leads C. Davis and Everhart. The 3rd caution comes out for the spin of Tyler Killingsworth #45. On the restart, Davis Jr. gets the jump and gets back into the lead, but the 4th caution comes out for the spin of Tommy Davis #8 in Turn 3. On the restart, Davis Jr. gets back out into the lead with C. Davis and Everhart battling for 2nd. At halfway, the Top 5 is Davis Jr., C. Davis, Everhart, Randy Eckert #44, and Gary Blackwell #010. At Lap 12, Davis Jr. starts to open up his lead on the rest of the field. Everhart takes over 2nd place from C. Davis, but C. Davis battles back on the inside, but can’t retake the spot. At Lap 15, Davis Jr. has set sail on the rest of the pack and has pulled away by a straightaway. Everhart and C. Davis battle for 2nd. With two laps to go, Davis Jr. is way out front, but the battle for 2nd on back is still fun to watch. The white flag is waving with Davis Jr. out front by a lot. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his 6th win of the season was Tommy Davis Jr. in the Signs by Davis Racing. Tommy’s Towing, RCP #17. The rest of the Top 5 was Bennie Everhart #9, Chris Davis #98, Randy Eckert #44, and Brian Sartain #90. The Hard Charger was Chad Mims #2 after moving from 22nd to 10th. In the points, Bennie Everhart #9 leads Brian Sartain #90 by 22, Chris Davis #98 by 24, and Skip Luther # 73 by 25.
Night number 15 is in the books for the 2007 season. It was a very good and exciting night of racing. The weather was pretty good. Thanks to all the drivers who did the Autograph Night and who passed out pictures and goodies. We saw a lot of repeat winners return to the Town East Ford Victory Lane. We will see you all this Saturday night, August 11th, for night number 16. It will be Fan Appreciation Night. You will get to walk the track during intermission, and it’s also Dollar Hot Dog Night. Edmonds Makes It Back To Back; Pace Scores First Bomber Win.

On July 28th, the 14th night of racing action took place. The weather worked with us for a third week in a row. The track was very tacky for the heat races. It would get dry slick during the second feature. The track would still keep all three racing grooves, but it would have a very tricky track to get a hold of. The racing got started with the Mini Stocks.
Mini Stocks
The heat race winners were John White Jr. #8 and Corey Morris #93.
Leading the field of 12 to the green was Lyle Miller #151 and John White #6. As the field gets the green flag, White gets the jump on Miller and gets out into the lead to lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, White leads Miller and John White Jr. #8. At Lap 4, White Jr. has problems and falls back as Bobby Parker #135 and Bobby Ortega #07 move into 2nd and 3rd. At halfway, the Top 5 is White, Parker, Ortega, Trent Dorman #36, and Randy Garvin #3. At Lap 7, the first caution comes out for Bobby Ortega #07 after he spins. On the restart, White gets back out into the lead with Dorman and Parker 2nd and 3rd. With two laps to go, the battle for the lead is a good one to watch as the Top 3 battle three-wide for the lead. Parker works the bottom, White leads in the middle, and Dorman works the top. Dorman leads at the white flag by inches over White and Parker. The leaders come out of Turn 2 with Dorman leading but White and Parker are right there, but they can’t get by Dorman. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his 8th feature win of the season was Trent Dorman in the Luther’s Auto Emporium, We Got Your Number Graphics, Jordan’s Cigarette Store #36. The rest of the Top 5 was John White #6, Bobby Parker #135, Jon White Jr. #8, and Randy Garvin #3. The Hard Charger was Trent Dorman #36 after moving from 8th to 1st.

Leading the field of 23 was Darrell Turner #028 and Gary Blackwell #010. As the field comes out of Turn 4, the green flag comes out and we are underway, with Blackwell getting the jump to lead Lap 1. At Lap 3, Blackwell leads but is starting to see pressure from Bubba Davis #19 and Chris Davis #98. At Lap 5, B. Davis dives under Blackwell for the lead but can’t make the pass. At Lap 6, B. Davis’ strong runs ends as he heads to the pits with motor problems. Blackwell and C. Davis run first and second. At Lap 8, Blackwell holds the lead but has C. Davis on his back bumper and Tommy Davis Jr. #17 now runs in 3rd place. At halfway, the Top 3 still battle hard for the lead as they run three-wide. The Top 5 is Blackwell, C. Davis, Davis Jr., Bennie Everhart #9, and Brian Sartain #90. At Lap 12, Blackwell holds onto the lead with Davis Jr. looking low and C. Davis right on their bumpers. The first caution comes out for Danny Pattat #020. On the restart, Blackwell returns to the lead with Davis Jr. and C. Davis still on his back bumper. At Lap 15, Davis Jr. is trying everything he can to pass Blackwell, but he can’t make the pass. C. Davis and Everhart battle for 3rd place. At Lap 17, Blackwell leads, but Davis Jr. gets under him and makes the pass for the lead. Blackwell stays right there. With two laps to go Davis Jr. leads with Blackwell right there. C. Davis and Everhart still battle hard for 3rd. The field gets the white flag with Davis Jr. out front. The battle for 3rd still goes hard with C. Davis and Everhart 3rd and 4th. Coming out of Turn 4 and taking his 5th feature win of the season was Tommy Davis Jr. in the Tommy’s Towing, Signs by Davis Racing, RCP #17. The rest of the Top 5 was Gary Blackwell #010, Chris Davis #98, Bennie Everhart #9 and Max Eddie Thomas #82. The Hard Charger was Amanda Bell #4 after moving from 23rd to 13th.
Street Stocks
The heat race winners were Dennis Clayton #5, William Exum #121 and Steve Byram #2.
Leading the field of 21 Street Stocks to the green flag would be Steve Brown #76 and Dennis Clayton #5. As the field comes out of Turn 4 and takes the green flag, Clayton gets the jump to take the lead, but a hard crash in Turn 3 involving William Exum #121, Tommy McManus #103, Dave Emmons #23, and Chris Kent #47 brings out the caution. On the complete restart, Clayton gets the jump on Brown to take the lead and lead Lap 1. At Lap 4, the battle for the lead starts to heat up and Brown passes Clayton to take over the lead. Steve Byram #2 also passes Clayton to move into 2nd. At Lap 6, Brown leads but Byram is looking under him for the lead, but he can’t make the pass. At Lap 8, Brown leads Byram and Chris Davis #98. The first caution comes out for Dennis Clayton #5. On the restart, Brown gets the jump on Byram to stay out front. With five laps to go, the Top 5 is Brown, Byram, Clint Frideley #08, Jay Edmonds #16, and Davis. At Lap 12, Brown leads with Byram and Edmonds battling for 2nd place, while Davis and Frideley race for 4th. With two laps to go, Edmonds passes Brown on the outside with Byram and Davis battling for 3rd place. Edmonds leads at the white flag with the rest of the Top 5 battling hard for positions. Coming out of Turn 4 and making it back to back and three wins on the season was Jay Edmonds in the Philpot Paint and Parts #16.
